About eighteen and a half years ago, when I was living in the outskirts of a small town far away from my home town and friends, Christian Science was brought to me by my sister, who had been healed almost instantaneously of an ailment which two doctors had said only an operation could heal, and that such operations were fatal nine times out of ten. She knew very little of Christian Science, but left me some literature. While I was reading some of it, such a change of thought came over me that I did not know what had occurred. I was filled with great joy and peace, and asked myself, "What is this feeling?" Then came the answer, "Perfect love casteth out fear." I had read this passage many times in the Bible, but this time it was so illumined that I was healed of a great fear of financial difficulties which involved other people as well as ourselves. These debts were taken care of in a wonderful way, and we have gained a much better understanding of supply.
Since that time we have had many healings in Christian Science: of an abscess in the ear, a bad cut on the foot, sore throat, scarlet fever, diphtheria, appendicitis, and many other ills. I have been healed of ptomaine poisoning, tonsillitis, and a felon on the thumb.
I am very grateful for these healings and for the fact that all my family are active in church work; also for the changed outlook we have on life and the higher understanding of God that we have gained through our study and application of Christian Science.
