I wish to express my gratitude to God and also to Mrs. Eddy for the rich discovery of Christian Science. Through the fourteen years of my study of Mrs. Eddy's books I have proved beyond a doubt that spiritual right thinking brings healing.
Among other ailments I have been healed of rheumatism and of dysentery contracted in the Philippine Islands while in army service, for which I was discharged as being disabled. In this instance I was also healed of loss of memory, chronic catarrh, and temperamental traits of character. My first healing was of blood poisoning and the liquor habit. I was healed by Christian Science of influenza at Ellis Island, where we were quarantined on our return from France in a hospital ship during the world war.
I wish to express my gratitude and thanks to The Mother Church for responding so lovingly to my call for my comrade and myself in the East Norfolk hospital for the mental and unbalanced soldiers from the world war, where I was on duty at the carpenter shop. I am grateful that through this call Christian Science services were held at the hospital, and that I had the privilege of attending them with other comrades.
