The following is an expression of gratitude for blessings received through Christian Science. In September, 1930, about ten days before school started, our eldest daughter was taken sick with what I thought to be neuritis and sinus trouble. She was suffering terribly from continuous headache, was unable to read, and her entire body was very sensitive. She had been ill for two or three days when I told her to make her decision as to which treatment she desired, Christian Science or medical. Within an hour she had decided it should be Christian Science.
I had been studying Christian Science earnestly for only a few months when this occurred. My husband, who was not interested in Science but did not exactly oppose it, did not think we should have Christian Science treatment; but it was explained to him that as long as our daughter preferred that treatment it would be the more effective, which it proved to be. We telephoned and made an appointment with a practitioner for the afternoon. We were both so young in Science that, while we were willing, we felt very helpless. The healing was accomplished by the practitioner in three treatments. Divine Love won, as it always will.
When young I had often longed to know more of the teachings of Christ Jesus, our beloved Wayshower, and also often wished I had lived when he had been among his disciples and could have learned from him what was needed to carry on. But since taking up Christian Science I feel more satisfied, and feel that my thirst for Truth is being quenched. I wish to express my gratitude for membership in our branch church and also for class instruction, which means very much to me, for now I can help wherever and whenever the need arises.
