From the October 1933 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The Christian Science Board of Directors announces that Mr. John Henry Weer, C. S., of Brookline, Massachusetts, who for six years has filled the position of Manager of The Christian Science Benevolent Association, is retiring as of September 1, and will take up new duties as Field Representative of the Charitable Institutions, acting for The Mother Church.

Prior to his managership of the Benevolent Association Sanatorium at Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, Mr. Weer had been engaged in Christian Science practice in Tacoma, Washington, until he was appointed Manager of The Christian Science Pleasant View Home, at Concord, New Hampshire, early in 1927.

Mr. Weer's new duties will take him to various parts of the Field, where he will address meetings of Christian Science church members, grant interviews with Christian Science practitioners and others, and generally promote a fuller understanding and appreciation of the two Benevolent Associations of The Mother Church and the home for Christian Scientists at Concord, New Hampshire. Mr. Weer will also be available to attend to such other matters throughout the Field as The Christian Science Board of Directors may from time to time designate.
