Testimonies of Healing

One day I noticed that I could...

From the March 1933 issue of The Christian Science Journal

One day I noticed that I could hear only faintly with my left ear, and I also felt as if there was something in it that ought not to be there. I gave myself a Christian Science treatment, according to the teachings of Mary Baker Eddy. Notwithstanding this, after two weeks I found that I had become completely deaf in that ear. Meanwhile I had become surrounded by other difficulties, so that I found it necessary to call for the help of a practitioner; and this help was lovingly given me. Yet after one day I felt I had to do my own work.

At this time a friend in another town asked me to give her help in Christian Science. This I agreed to do, and it entailed a great deal of correspondence. One day I felt she needed a personal interview, but to give this I had to leave my daughter alone under unpleasant conditions. Understanding the nearness of divine Love, and having meditated upon the words of Christ Jesus recorded in Matthew 19:29, I was able to go to my friend with a great sense of confidence.

I had to have my thought filled with the truths of divine Science as given in our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, if I would help my friend. So, constantly keeping in thought the perfect man, who is the spiritual, real man, logically I forgot all about my own trouble. Late at night, with great joy, I suddenly noticed that I was healed, although at first I could hardly believe it. So once again it was proved to me that "Mind alone possesses all faculties, perception, and comprehension" (Science and Health, p. 488).
