TESTIMONIES OF HEALING
When Christian Science was brought to me I was suffering from what the doctors called tuberculosis and peritonitis of the bowels. When I was about to undergo an operation which promised only temporary relief, my parents decided to give Christian Science a trial. Needless to say, I was permanently healed.
For many years after leaving Sunday school I drifted along, content to call myself a Christian Scientist, but not willing to do the work that would make me one. While there were many problems solved during that time, there was one that did not yield, and that was a goiter. I was tempted at times to try some of the material remedies that were suggested to me by those who meant to be kind. While I felt the desire to bring about this healing through Christian Science, yet the willingness to strive for it was not there. Mrs. Eddy writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 167), "It is not wise to take a halting and half-way position or to expect to work equally with Spirit and matter, Truth and error." I am very grateful to the practitioner who encouraged me to continue in my earnest work, which finally brought about this healing.
