Fifteen years ago a disease came upon my body causing me great pain. A kind lady offered to work for me in Christian Science, saying that the disease would permanently disappear. I gave my consent, and in less than a week I was healed. I knew that this Science heals, for I had witnessed a healing in our family. My mother became despondent after taking medicine to relieve a severe headache, without any result; finally she telephoned to a friend who was a Christian Scientist, and asked for help. In a short time she was healed, going about her work joyfully.
Since taking up the study of Christian Science I have been healed of many so-called minor ailments. The desire for tobacco and intoxicating liquors, which almost ended my earthly existence, has been destroyed in my consciousness. There was a time when I did not know what patience was; anger, hatred, and resentment handled me at every turn, causing me a great deal of suffering. I am gradually overcoming these bad traits of character, and my reward is patience and peace of mind. I am grateful to learn of God through Christian Science, and of my relation to Him; also that good is not personal. Christian Science brings freedom in its widest sense.
