I am very grateful for what Christian Science has done for me and mine. I did not come into this Science for healing, but when I had read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, but a short time, I realized that I was healed of sick headaches, which had often kept me in bed for several days. My little girl was healed of a severe case of measles, accompanied by severe pain in the ear. I did not know anything about a treatment in Science, nor how it was given. This healing came through my reading the textbook every spare moment in the day, and far into the night. One evening my little girl said, "Mama, my ear doesn't hurt now." At that moment all the darkness turned to light. It was the happiest moment of my life, and I knew she was healed, although I had not looked at her body during this time. I went to another room and prayed, "Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always." At that moment the child went to sleep, completely healed.
There is no sorrow that Love cannot heal. I proved this when a loved one passed on very suddenly. It seemed as if the shock would overcome me, but I turned to God, and with the help of a practitioner I was healed of all sense of loss and heartache. This was wonderful to me, as I had always thought that it would take years to heal sorrow.
My healings are so numerous that I cannot find words to express my gratitude. I want to know more and more of this wonderful teaching, and my prayer is that everyone may know and understand God's love and protection of His children. My heart goes out with loving gratitude to our Leader, for giving us the textbook which unlocks the Scriptures. Christian Science is the most wonderful thing that has come into my life. I am very grateful for the Reading Rooms wherein we may find rest and peace; for the privilege of being a member of The Mother Church; and also that each one of my children has some understanding of Christian Science.— St. Joseph, Missouri.
