About twenty years ago I first saw a copy of the Sentinel. After reading one half of the first column, I declared that it was the truth and just what I had been wanting. I secured a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy from a public library, and after reading this book through I found that headaches, indigestion, and constipation, from which I had suffered since childhood, had disappeared. Christian Science has been my only physician during these years. Although I attended church during this time, I did not become sufficiently interested to work out my own problems, so that only in the last ten years have I become a sincere, earnest student, praying for understanding, humility, and love.
At one time constipation reappeared, but with the help of a practitioner it was easily overcome. During this time the sentence from Science and Health (p. 413), "Mind regulates the condition of the stomach, bowels, and food, the temperature of children and of men. and matter does not," was the healing truth which proved that Mind is present everywhere and available to destroy every false condition. I have also been healed of hereditary consumption and nervousness.
While I am deeply grateful for the physical healings and for the excellent health which I have enjoyed during these years, I am more grateful for the moral and mental healing which has taken place. On three different occasions, when attempts at robbery were made, I have been protected by realizing God's presence and power. After a separation of ten years, reunion was brought about and harmony restored in the home by my obedience to the "still small voice" of Truth.
