For the past four years I have been an earnest student of Christian Science, and these four years have been crowded with blessings. I lovingly offer my testimony, and hope it will encourage beginners, as it has been proved to me that it is not necessary to be a student of long standing in order to demonstrate this truth. I had been reading the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, for about six weeks when I realized that I was healed of an infected gall bladder, from which I had suffered for about five years. Doctors had informed me that my only cure would lie in an operation. At the time I was on a very strict diet, but I never knew when I ceased this diet. I have never had an attack since.
At this time I was experiencing most unhappy domestic relations, but through the help of a Christian Science practitioner and the Christ, Truth, my home was re-established, and consequently it is now very harmonious. Headaches have been overcome, sprained ankles and fingers have been instantaneously healed; influenza, colds, measles, indigestion, financial lack, poor business, a real estate problem, social drinking, gambling, and smoking have been wiped out by this truth.
In the summer of 1934 my husband and I were wonderfully protected in an automobile accident. Recently, escaped gas from a stove exploded in my face. My maid put out the fire from my hair, and although eyebrows and lashes and the fine hairs on my face were burned off, my face was untouched. I did not realize the seriousness of the situation at the time, but when my hand became painful and a sudden sickness came over me I made the effort to call a practitioner, and as I started to the telephone I felt myself fainting. After the third attempt I finally reached her and work was begun. The next morning I awoke healed. Even though my hand showed evidences of a burn, there was no pain and I used it as usual.
