Through physical suffering, which physicians had failed to alleviate, I was led to Christian Science; and through reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy and with the help of a practitioner I was healed. This was the beginning of a new life for me. I have been so grateful to learn through this study that the Scriptures are true, and that we can actually turn to God for help in all our problems and receive it.
At the time of the sudden passing on of my husband in a coal mine disaster, my boys and I were sustained in a truly wonderful way. Two passages from the Bible, "The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms," and, "Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest," were of the greatest comfort and help during this time.
While visiting with relatives, my youngest boy was healed of an abscess in his ear. I wired a practitioner for absent treatment, as I saw from his appearance that the condition was serious. The next day he was normal and went swimming, and there has never been a recurrence of the trouble.
