I have experienced many wonderful healings through Christian Science, some through the help of a practitioner, and others by applying what understanding I have gained of the healing truth. I am grateful to have learned that if we do not accept an erroneous thought when it first presents itself, then we do not have to suffer from the results of that thought.
One morning when I awoke I had every evidence of influenza. I instantly denied this error and continued to do so during the morning. By noon every manifestation of that discordant condition had disappeared. At another time I turned my ankle and was thrown with great force upon a cement walk. As I fell I declared that there were no accidents in divine Mind, in accordance with what Mrs. Eddy tells us on page 424 of Science and Health. At first I could not rise. Mortal mind was trying to suggest that I had broken an ankle and that the pain was severe. I finally got into the house and dressed to go downtown, all the time knowing the truth of the statement in the Bible, "In him we live, and move, and have our being." As a result of my work I was enabled to go downtown and to walk about sixteen blocks with little inconvenience. I looked at the ankle the next morning for the first time. There was no discoloration, and very little swelling. Before coming into Christian Science I had practically the same experience and could not walk for six weeks.
I have had healings of a severe throat trouble, abscessed teeth, congested kidneys, and of influenza accompanied by a hemorrhage. I am grateful for all these healings, but especially so for learning each day more of God and of my relation to Him. It is this understanding which frees us from every kind of error.
