I should like to express my gratitude for the many blessings which have come to me through the study of Christian Science, especially for one received when I was a small child. I became ill with what the doctors called typhoid fever. A Christian Science practitioner was called, but I seemed to become worse. For five weeks I was unconscious most of the time, and one night my mother heard me repeating, "I am going to die." This frightened her, and she again called the practitioner and help was given. I slept well until morning, when I asked for something to eat, something I had not done for many days. I had to learn to walk again, and in two weeks I was back in school. I was very grateful for this proof of God's care. When I went into school the first morning, the teacher and children stood up and clapped their hands.
One morning as I started downstairs to prepare breakfast I stepped down three steps and fell to the landing. My ankle seemed to be broken, but as I did not wish to disturb my mother I continued on downstairs. When I reached the bottom step everything turned black in front of me, and I held onto the table declaring the truth about man and the allness of God. The pain was so great I could hardly move my foot, but in a few minutes I was able to call a practitioner and loving help was given. Within two hours the pain was gone. This was on a Monday, and on Wednesday I went to work and stood on my feet most of the day. The swelling was gone in three days, and I was able to walk without limping.
