It is with a heart full of gratitude to God, our Father-Mother; to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower; and to our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, that I add my testimony to the thousands that are being given the world over.
More than twenty years ago a Christian Science practitioner asked me over the telephone to quote the following sentence (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, Pref., p. vii) to a member of our family who had asked for Christian Science treatment: "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings." Instantly I felt a wonderful sense of peace, security, and gratitude, for although at that time I knew nothing of the teachings of Christian Science, I realized that I had found that for which I had been searching for many years—a religion which reveals God as Love.
At once I began the earnest study of Christian Science, and throughout all these years, I have received countless blessings through the study and application of its teachings. As we grow in the understanding of the truth, we realize that there is only one true rule for living—the Christ way which Christian Science teaches. I have proved that "trials are proofs of God's care" (ibid., p. 66); and as I see in each trial an opportunity to prove the presence and power of divine Love, I experience the confident assurance conveyed in the promise given to us in Deuteronomy, "The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms."
