It is with a heart full of gratitude and a loving desire to give "a cup of cold water in Christ's name" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 570), that I wish to give this testimony.
When Christian Science came to us, our home was full of sorrow, sickness, and lack. I had lost all faith in the medical profession, also in the orthodox prayers, which I felt had failed me in my greatest need. Through the help of this Science, however, we have seen the healing, quickly and permanently, of measles, chicken pox, scarlet fever, diphtheria, chorea, eczema, croup, whooping cough, heart trouble, and infected tonsils.
Very early in my study I recognized that contagion is mental, not physical, and that through the application of the Christ, Truth, it could be completely destroyed. We never had a contagion sign on our home during the rearing of our two sons from infancy to manhood. Each time the suggestion of a so-called children's disease appeared, it was destroyed at once.
