Testimonies of Healing

Thanks be to God for the unspeakable...

From the September 1938 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Thanks be to God for the unspeakable gift of Christian Science, revealed to mankind by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, who, through her "listening ear" and radical reliance on God, was able to make the truth of what she had discovered practical.

Hoping that my own experience in proving the allness and goodness of God in the healing of broken bones and results of accidents will help and encourage others, I shall relate the circumstances. I was at work in a large house open to the public, arranging and supervising several departments. A new wing was being added, and linoleum laid. While working there I caught my foot and fell on my left shoulder.

The owner of the house was also a student of Christian Science, but as we were amongst so many strangers, it was deemed wise to call in a doctor. I telephoned at once to a practitioner in a near-by city and repeated to her all the opinions and false laws voiced, one of which was that I should probably lose an arm. An X-ray examination was arranged for the next morning. The X-ray photograph showed that the ball of the shoulder was broken in two places. Five doctors saw that.
