In giving my testimony I wish first to give God all honor and glory, as the God of love; and to express gratitude to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower; for as Mrs. Eddy says in Science and Health (p. 313), "Jesus of Nazareth was the most scientific man that ever trod the globe."In the year 1927 I was afflicted with neuritis; I had little or no control of my right hand, and could not comb my hair, or put my hand into my pocket. As I had always been very active, I was despondent over this. I tried every material remedy which my friends advised. I also had electric treatments, and both arms were inoculated with serum; but nothing helped me, until a friend asked me to try Christian Science.
I knew nothing of Science, but was ready to try anything. In all sincerity and meekness, I can say that after consulting a practitioner and having her work for me, I soon improved, and began attending the Christian Science church services. By that time I had gained considerable control of my limbs, but my hand shook so badly I could hardly hold the Hymnal so as to read the hymns when singing. But now I can praise God, and leap as the lame man did at the gate called Beautiful. In all these years I have been free, and fully able to carry on, in my business and musical activities.
I was also healed of the tobacco habit, after being a slave to it for thirty-eight years. Many minor ailments have been overcome, such as hay fever, colds, and coughs. About two years ago I was partially deaf, but with the help of a practitioner, and by my continually knowing the truth about God and man's relationship to Him, I was quickly healed.
