It is with deep and sincere gratitude that I wish to bear witness to the healing and regenerating power of Christian Science. For over twenty years this teaching has been my mainstay, comforting, guiding, and supporting me through many varied problems.
I did not come into Christian Science for physical healing, but for something which would solve for me the problem of being and give me a reason for existing. This reason was found in Mrs. Eddy's words in "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany" (p. 165), "Thus may each member of this church rise above the oft-repeated inquiry, What am I? to the scientific response: I am able to impart truth, health, and happiness, and this is my rock of salvation and my reason for existing." Christian Science has healed me of intense fear and of belief in heredity; also of all sense of grief, loss, and separation when my mother passed on. It has proved invaluable in the rearing of my family and in the solution of every problem with which I have been confronted.
Words are inadequate to express my gratitude for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church. I am deeply grateful to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for her unselfed labor on behalf of all mankind. My testimony would not be complete without expressing gratitude to our Directors, who, for the Cause of Christian Science, are so faithfully performing their duties. Gratefully do I acknowledge the benefits gained from class instruction, and also the help received at all times from practitioners and friends. The literature, coming regularly and abundantly, certainly symbolizes the words of Malachi, "Prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it." Thanks are due the writers of the helpful articles which satisfy our hunger for spiritual enlightenment.—Ladysmith, Natal, South Africa.
