It is with profound gratitude that I bear witness to the truth of the Biblical statement, "A little child shall lead them," for it was through the loving receptivity of our small son that I was finally led to accept Christian Science.
Many times during the earlier part of my life Christian Science was presented to me. On one such occasion I was asked to learn "the scientific statement of being" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 468), which I did. And although it did not mean much to me at the time, the seed of Truth was planted which, in due time, was to bring newness of life, not only to myself, but also to those near and dear to me.
When our son was about four and a half years old we were brought face to face with the dread of death, for according to medical laws he was suffering from a so-called incurable tubercular malady, which apparently had reached its final stages of development. We had exhausted all the various medical remedies, including electric treatments. Then, at the darkest moment, the seed of Truth sown so many years before sprang up. I called a practitioner and asked her to work for the child.
