Unemployment is one of the problems which many of us have had to meet in recent years. Christian Science has met this several times for me during the past few years.
My first demonstration of divine guidance was after college. I was led to do graduate work, and a place for me was found in the dormitory at the last minute after someone canceled her reservation. Later, upon completion of a business course, I was offered a position for seven months so I could get some experience; and this work lasted for three and a half years. An outstanding instance occurred when I was given a three months' leave of absence from some work. About two weeks before I was scheduled to return, I was led to inquire about a possible opening in another place. A position was offered me that day, and on returning home that evening, I received a letter from my former employer stating that, owing to a reduced budget, they would not be able to take me back as expected. This was an example of what Isaiah says, "Before they call, I will answer."
Three years ago, when I sent in my per capita tax slip, I increased the amount for the first time since joining The Mother Church several years before. Three days after that, I was notified that I was to receive a raise of several dollars a week, although I had been with the firm only two months. This was significant in that I had not previously received any increases.
