NEXT to Christ Jesus, Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, is being gradually and rightly conceded to be the world's greatest Christian educator. Her greatness in this respect is commensurate with her fidelity to her discovery, the Science of divine Mind, by which she gave to universal humanity a system of spiritual education which is Christianly scientific.
This scientifically Christian educational system, built upon the divine Mind, God, as All-in-all, is not for any privileged class, but for all mankind in its every state and stage of development. Conspicuous for its entire rejection of matter and evil as real, and its freedom from merely human hypotheses, the Christian Science system of religion honors God, the all-knowing Mind, as the sole cause and creator. It maintains the spiritual nature of all that really exists.
The textbook of Christian Science, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, contains in its simplicity and completeness the statement of the Science of being, and the Christianly scientific rules which are practically adapted to "lifting humanity above itself into purer desires, even into spiritual power and good-will to man" (ibid., p. 407). The simplicity and completeness of the Christian Science textbook are to be found in its absolute statements of the truth about God, man in His image and likeness, and man's relationship to Him. From cover to cover, the Christian Science textbook logically holds to the truth, thus presenting a system of Christianly scientific education which, in every sense of the word, points out the way of righteous living.
