STUDY

From the April 1939 issue of The Christian Science Journal

THE student of Christian Science who heeds Paul's admonition, "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth," is in a position to experience growth in understanding, with increasing demonstration. Innumerable persons have been healed through the power of God, as revealed in Christian Science. Some have been healed and otherwise benefited through the aid of practitioners, and some by reading even a part of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Many who have read the Bible in the light of this textbook have had perplexing questions answered, receiving spiritual light and blessing through even a glimpse of spiritual truth.

To apprehend more of the letter and spirit of the revealed truth, the student accepts wholeheartedly the opportunity for study of the Bible and thoughtful meditation on its spiritual import as presented through the teachings of Christian Science.

To experience spiritual uplifting and healing is liberating and inspiring. Actually to be conscious of the dispelling of false beliefs is a grand realization. But to understand how these experiences take place, is to renew one's consciousness and increase one's acquaintance with God and His perfect spiritual creation. Jesus said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." This knowing dispels the clouds of mortal belief, and brings the light of spiritual understanding with attendant demonstration of good.
