I am very grateful to Christian Science for the numerous blessings which I have received through it.
To speak first of all of physical benefits, I shall say that formerly I was very sensitive to cold. In the winter I could not see an open door without rushing to close it. I was also suffering from a disease of the veins for which I had taken several courses of medical treatment and had followed a strict diet without success. A very short time after reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I realized that I might put into practice the little that I understood. I was also helped by practitioners at various times, and my gratitude is very sincere towards them. I freed myself from the bad habit of staying continually by the fire, through realizing that because God is Love, I could not lack comfort, for I am His child, and that the only genuine circulation is the activity that comes from God. I stopped dieting altogether. That was more than seven years ago, and I have never suffered since. At the same time I was also healed of a growth in my nose, which caused difficulty in breathing during several winters. I am also happy to have seen clearly that God answers our prayers when we are willing to apply the law of Love, even before we fully understand divine Science.
Later I had another problem to solve, this time in my work. For about two years I had to submit to disagreeable and often unjust remarks by a person whom I had come to fear. This state of mind did not help to solve the problem. One day a practitioner said to me, "Do you know that a disagreeable individual is always an unhappy individual?" I had no further trouble in loving this person, and I had the joy of seeing him change in a way that surprised me. He became polite in speech, sometimes gentle and always very just. My business relations with him are always cordial.
