I wish to express my gratitude to God for Christian Science, and for all the blessings it has brought into my experience. When a young girl, I asked my father why healings were not performed in this age as they were in the time of Jesus. My father answered that we live under a different dispensation. I grew to young womanhood still wondering why those healings and wonderful works should have been discontinued.
At a time of great stress I learned of Christian Science. I noticed that my sister seemed to be very happy and free from worry. When I commented on her new-found joy and poise, she told me she was studying Christian Science. Soon after this a friend told me that his little boy enjoyed going to the Christian Science Sunday School because the children took a real interest in their Bible lessons. He said his family began studying Christian Science after attending services a few Sundays. This friend and my sister advised me to get a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and read it.
Through the study of the textbook, this beautiful religion began to be revealed to me. I was soon healed of a bladder trouble from which I had suffered. I went to a Christian Science practitioner and told her of this difficulty. She said: "God is good. Therefore, only good can come from God." When I left her I found myself saying: "God is good. And God is All. Then good must be all that exists. This trouble is not good, therefore it does not exist." This was over six years ago, and the condition has never returned. From that day I discontinued the diet which had been prescribed for me, and ate whatever I liked.
