The prophet Micah sets forth with unmistakable clearness a wise and righteous course of action which all men should follow, if practical Christianity is to be attained and demonstrated, in the words, "He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?"
Throughout all ages, and under all circumstances and conditions, the goodness of God has remained an established fact, apparent to all who possessed even a small degree of spiritual understanding. To the humble and obedient seekers of Truth, God has revealed His goodness in beautiful and unmistakable ways. For a time Moses was timid and uncertain as to his ability to obey God's direction, but God said to him, "I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy." Thus did God show him what is good; and this manifestation of divine, ever-present good brought him a sense of security, confidence, courage, and the assurance of the ultimate triumph of his righteous undertaking.
Throughout all human history, no one has understood or perceived the ever-present good which is God so clearly as did the master Christian, Christ Jesus. This spiritual understanding enabled him in his lifework to fulfill every requirement of his Father, divine Love. He is our Way shower our perfect Exemplar. Jesus demonstrated Christ. He proved the power and presence of God to be instantly available for the solution of every problem confronting mankind. His Sermon on the Mount is a shining example of his instruction to the people of his time, and for all time to come, as to the way to act justly, the way to be merciful, loving, kind, and to walk humbly with God.
