"HOW CAN THESE THINGS BE?"

From the April 1941 issue of The Christian Science Journal

It comes as a surprise to many of those seeking help in Christian Science to learn what a great part their own thinking, whether good or evil thinking, plays in their human experience. And they may be even more surprised to learn that everything they see is the expression of thought, although they may readily concede that every act must be the result of thought. As we awaken from the Adam-dream of life in matter to the light of Truth, we begin to perceive the mental nature of cause and effect.

An arresting statement in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy is (Pref., p. vii), "The time for thinkers has come."

In order to avail ourselves of the power of right thinking, we must earnestly seek for good and express it. There can be no compromise with evil, if we are thinking rightly, but there must be a calm, steadfast conviction of the omnipotence of Spirit, God.
