From my own experience I know, beyond question, that when its rules are earnestly applied, Christian Science heals every kind of disease and difficulty.
Although I have known of Christian Science all my life I was very antagonistic to what I believed its teachings to be until I was instantaneously healed, solely through reading its textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I had been ill for some months, during which time my weight had steadily decreased. Religions had always interested me, and at this time I was at last reading the Christian Science textbook "to see what it was about." What I read gave a clear glimpse of the full meaning of the words, "The Lord God omnipotent reigneth" (Revelation 19:6). In a flash I saw the allness of Spirit and the nothingness of matter, and thus proved the truth of Mrs. Eddy's words on page 14 of Science and Health: "Become conscious for a single moment that Life and intelligence are purely spiritual.—neither in nor of matter,—and the body will then utter no complaints. If suffering from a belief in sickness; you will find yourself suddenly well." I was healed. The next day I ate and enjoyed ordinary meals, which I had not done for many weeks, and in four days had gained fourteen pounds in weight. This healing has been a constant inspiration to me, for it proved beyond doubt the unreliability of material so-called laws which would say this healing was impossible.
Since then I have been healed of other difficulties, both physical and mental, including a troublesome cough which had been with me for several years, badly cut hands, the effects of a severe dose of gas from the exhaust of a motor bus, and the tendency to be ill on even the shortest car journeys.
