I am so grateful for the healing and regenerative power of Christian Science. When it was presented to me I knew nothing of its teachings, but I did desire to be healed, and in my extremity I was ready to depend honestly on Christian Science treatment. The first treatment healed me of stomach disorder, and in a short while, with further help from a practitioner, I was able to overcome extreme nervousness, insomnia, and severe eyestrain.
Through this experience I saw that the power of spiritual law, as revealed through Christian Science, annihilates the testimony of the senses, and I was healed of dependence on material remedies so completely in that first treatment that there has been no further temptation to use them. This was the most convincing proof I could have had, for I was then a medical nurse. That was seventeen years ago. In the intervening years I have had many added proofs.
In talking with a practitioner about employment the question was asked, "What qualities of Mind does the world have need of today?" Then she stressed the importance of honesty, sincerity, dependability. Quickly I saw that I must actively express those qualities, not just think about them. Needless to say, a position was offered me at once; one in which I had had no experience, but it has proved remunerative, and has given me extra time for study and class instruction.
