Testimonies of Healing

In gratitude to our beloved...

From the July 1943 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In gratitude to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, I wish to give this testimony.

With the hope of doing my part to alleviate the suffering of humanity, I entered the nursing profession quite young and practiced this work for many years. Gradually I realized that sickness, instead of diminishing, was steadily increasing, despite the skill of medical science and research. Looking for a cause I found it in my own restless and diseased state of thought, but was at a loss to know how to remedy it. I grew morose and despondent, often praying for something, I knew not what. At this time we removed to another city, and during my visit in the home of a relative who is a student of Christian Science I began to learn of Truth. The way was rugged and steep during those years, and many times I was footsore and weary from much climbing and falling back, but never once did I think of giving up, for each trial was a steppingstone to something higher and better than anything I had had before.

My children passed through many so-called children's diseases without ill effects, and through the loving help given them in the Christian Science Sunday School have learned to help themselves and others.
