It is with profound gratitude to God for the healing power of Christian Science and the joy it has brought to our household that I offer the following testimony. Today we sing with the Psalmist: "Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. . . . Who forgiveth all thine iniquities, who healeth all thy diseases."
Shortly after our eldest son entered a university he came home with a serious throat trouble. Because of uncertainty regarding the nature of the malady and because I wished to conform to the state health laws, I sent for a physician. He diagnosed the condition as a malignant abscess which would have to be operated upon within two hours if we wished to save our son's life. After the physician had left I asked our son which he preferred, an operation or the help of a Christian Science practitioner. I rejoice to say he chose the latter, and within an hour after the work was begun the abscess broke, and the healing was immediately accomplished.
One younger son contracted influenza at the age of eight, and in the three months that followed he had measles, scarlet fever, double pneumonia, and partial paralysis. Work was taken up for him as the various errors appeared, but during the attack of pneumonia he passed into a state of coma, and the end seemed to be very near.
