I want to add this testimony to the many already published in the Christian Science periodicals. I am grateful for the good unfolded to me in the light of Christian Science. Its teachings have been forming my thoughts as long as I can remember, for it was when I was a baby suffering from poisoning that my mother first asked for Christian Science treatment from a practitioner. My healing was so complete that she was convinced she had at last found the truth she had been seeking.
The older children were immediately placed in the Christian Science Sunday School, and at the age of four I was enrolled. One of the tenderest memories of our life at home was the family circle in the morning when we each read a part of the Lesson-Sermon from the Christian Science Quarterly. I can remember sitting in that circle at first as a patient listener. But what joy was mine when I learned to read and could share in the readings! I feel that this guidance was the finest and most priceless home training.
I was taught many valuable things in the Sunday school, including the practice of turning to the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, for guidance in any adverse circumstance. Another was to look away from the condition to be healed and to examine one's thinking. Another helpful precept I learned was to stop looking at the material evidence and to know the unadulterated facts of God's ever-presence.
