"Be still, and know that I am God."
What blessed assurance flows
Into the quietened consciousness
Which hears, responds, and knows
That invitation comes from Him
Who heeds the sparrow's fall,
Who numbers, now, your every hair,
Replies before you call.
All ye who labor, fear, or mourn,
This message is for you;
In that sweet calm, the "still small voice"
Proclaims what Love can do.
Love stills the tempest, walks the waves
Of surging human woes;
Can make the barren wilderness
To blossom as the rose.
For God is Love, omnipotent, '
Who holds you in His care
Eternally, exhaustlessly—
And He is everywhere.
