My gratitude for the many blessings which have been bestowed upon me since I became interested in Christian Science is beyond expression.
It has met my daily needs and been a protection in two car accidents. It has healed constipation, as well as two severe conditions that had persisted since childhood: one in my side, for which I had had an unsuccessful operation; the other, a painful shoulder which the physicians attributed to a misplaced nerve.
The first healing was of the condition in my side, and it came about entirely through my reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I had been reading to a relative. The statement from the chapter on Prayer (p. 1) "The prayer that reforms the sinner and heals the sick is an absolute faith that all things are possible to God,—a spiritual understanding of Him, an unselfed love," awakened me to the realization that I could give up the drugs upon which I had depended for so many years. I felt perfectly confident that "with God all things are possible."
