Forty years ago I was healed of tuberculosis. Thus was belief in the law of heredity destroyed, for I had lost a brother from the same malady. My healing was quick, and in six weeks' time the recovery was so very evident that all my friends and relatives remarked about it. I am happy to say that I have experienced excellent health during all the intervening years.
Christian Science first came to my notice when I saw a dear friend instantaneously healed of erysipelas. She was my piano teacher, and I was making my home with her at that time. This healing operation, which occurred after a single visit from a Christian Science practitioner, I observed with much curiosity. It led me to seek help for my own condition, for which several doctors had already given the depressing and hopeless diagnosis of consumption. My healing, through the help of a practitioner, took place in the short time I have mentioned above.
I then began the earnest study of the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings, and later became a member of The Mother Church and of a branch church. I had the privilege of serving in many church activities, including teaching in the Sunday school, which was a great joy to me.
