My first testimony appeared in the Christian Science Sentinel of May, 1919, and once again I wish to express gratitude through the pages of our periodicals.
After I married there was much to be worked out, but I found after many setbacks that when Christian Science was properly applied it never failed to meet my need. The physical healings were the smallest part of the demonstration in comparison with the correction of my thinking, and as this took place I was able to understand in a degree what Mrs. Eddy has written in Science and Health (p. 259): "The Christlike understanding of scientific being and divine healing includes a perfect Principle and idea,—perfect God and perfect man,—as the basis of thought and demonstration."
Recently I again proved the healing efficacy of Christian Science. For some days error had presented itself in an aggravated form, and one Saturday after a busy week it seemed impossible to carry on under the physical difficulty. These words of Mrs. Eddy's (ibid., p. 385) came to me: "Whatever it is your duty to do you can do without harm to yourself." During the day my husband detected that there was something wrong and, not being a student of Christian Science, he became very much disturbed. He asked me if I realized the seriousness of the condition and reminded me of a relative who had passed on with a similar complaint, that of gallstones.
