In gratitude to our Father-Mother God for our Teacher and Way-shower, Christ Jesus, and in honor to Mary Baker Eddy, who followed the Master so closely that she was able to receive and impart to this age scientific Christianity, I should like to tell some of the good that has come to me through Christian Science.
In Science and Health (p. 249) Mrs. Eddy says, "Let us feel the divine energy of Spirit, bringing us into newness of life and recognizing no mortal nor material power as able to destroy." Doubtless every sincere Scientist has felt this divine energy of Spirit uplifting and healing him in one way or another. Such an experience came to me one Sunday morning at a Christian Science church service.
A few days previous to this I had been out driving with a friend, and was suffering so much from hay fever, a condition that had been troubling me for three years, that she became alarmed and insisted I do something about it at once, naming a physician whom she thought to be very competent. I knew, however, that I was doing something about it, for I was turning to God for help. Our dear Leader says (ibid., p. 454), "Love inspires, illumines, designates, and leads the way."
