It is generally believed that the span of life is limited by the effect of time on the human body. Time, as measured by human systems, claims to limit material existence to a period of years, and further to make laws restricting full activity to this period. Yet there is record in Scripture of patriarchs who lived far beyond the allotted span retaining their full vigor; and what of Enoch, who was translated so that he did not see death?
Down the years, individuals have seen beyond this limitation. Hugh Walpole, quoting from The Herries Chronicle, says, "During the flight of the Eagle two hundred years are but as a day—and the life of man, as against all odds he pushes toward immortality, is eternal."
There are other limitations of time and also of space. It is claimed that by accident of time and space one may be in a certain place at a certain time and suffer from some calamity which occurs there, without succor or redress, while another may profit by the fortune of an incident of the opposite character.
