Testimonies of Healing

Many people ask, when thinking of...

From the July 1946 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Many people ask, when thinking of trying Christian Science for the first time, if one has to have faith to be healed. From my own experience I answer "No."

I was very much opposed to what I thought this Science was. I had attended a Sunday evening service also a Wednesday testimony meeting, and had come away from the latter fully convinced there was nothing in Science that interested me.

But "man's extremity is God's opportunity," and several years later I was healed in Christian Science of a physical condition resulting from childbirth which physicians said only a surgical operation could heal. One evening when I was in a bad state, I was taken to the hospital and the operation was started; but I was in such a weakened condition that the doctor removed me to a private room, and my family was called. After several weeks I was able to leave the hospital for the purpose of gaining strength, in order to have the operation later.
