"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear" (I John 4:18). There was a period in my life when all material security seemed to be gone. I was afraid for the first time, but I clung to this verse from the Bible. At this time a new friend lovingly invited me to attend a Christian Science Wednesday evening testimony meeting. I did so, and right there I found peace, love, a different sense of security, and a wonderful feeling of nearness to God.
In a few days I obtained a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Night after night I read. I stopped between business calls in the daytime to go to the public library or the Christian Science Reading Room to read the current periodicals, until I was able to purchase them for myself.
Ever since that Wednesday evening meeting, fifteen years ago. I have attended the Christian Science church. All the material things that within a year had been removed from my life began to be replaced by spiritual ideas. I became a member of The Mother Church and of a branch church in which I have served in various capacities.
