Poems

To Christian Science

From the December 1947 issue of The Christian Science Journal

If on this misty earth I once had walked
Without support of Science ever near,
If to my consciousness no Truth had talked
Or made me see reality so clear;

If I had not been freed from matter's claim
By divine Science, our blest golden key,
Existence would be but a dream and vain,
With nothing of the truth's reality.

Oh, glorious good and love thou hast revealed
Whenever I stood firmly in thy light;
And every claim of pain or sin was healed,
Revealing omnipresent Love as might.

Oh, Science, strengthen me to hold and fight,
To keep thy standards clear before my eyes;
Always to prove that good alone is right.
Thy wondrous pathway straight before me lies.
