LET US TAKE REFUGE IN LOVE

From the December 1947 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"Fear not," were the first words heard by the startled shepherds abiding in the Bethlehem fields when the heavenly host heralded the coming of the promised Messiah, or Saviour. The second chapter of the Gospel of Luke gives the record of the joyful message of peace and good will to all mankind. And in this present age Mary Baker Eddy has proclaimed anew the universal and compassionate love of the Father.

Through our revered Leader's revelation of Christian Science, seekers for Truth are enabled to gain from divine Mind, the infinite source, a truer understanding of that Love which enfolds all mankind. This understanding of God as omnipresent Love dispels anxious thoughts and brings with it an increasing sense of security and peace. Through the expectation of good we find that the ever-operative law of Love protects and controls health, harmony, and life itself.

Mrs. Eddy writes on page 19 of her Message to The Mother Church for 1902: "To the burdened and weary, Jesus saith: 'Come unto me.' O glorious hope! there remaineth a rest for the righteous, a rest in Christ, a peace in Love." In proportion then as we reflect the Mind of Christ we discover that we are better prepared to dispute error's false claim to reality and power. We are mentally awakened to recognize from the spiritual viewpoint of man's oneness with the Father the all-enveloping Love from which there can be no separation.
