When we keep looking to God, with our eyes fixed on Truth, our lives are transformed, our difficulties fade away, our fears grow less. When we can be still, can quiet fears and doubts, cease from outlining, and look up, knowing that God governs every event of our lives; when we cease wondering when the answer will come and how it will happen, and trust His constant care, then we begin to realize the truth of Jesus' words (John 14:10), "The Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works." Then, and then only, can we prove that God is the source of man's being; that man has not a single quality apart from Him.

The situation confronting her seemed formidable indeed, and the picture before her eyes was dark and menacing. Her every effort seemed futile and thwarted by jealousy and revenge; failure and frustration seemed ready to engulf her. First one way out of the difficulty presented itself and then another, until in utter confusion, puzzled and perplexed, she decided to stop thinking about the problem, to be still, to cease outlining, and to trust God.
Suddenly she was summoned to the door by a loud knock. There stood the postman with a small parcel in his hand.
