Like many others who have experienced healing through Christian Science treatment I, too, often have occasion to recall one of my first physical healings and ponder its simplicity.
Some time ago an aunt living in another state visited our home hoping to interest our family in the study and application of Christian Science, and, since we lived in the country where there was no church, to show us how it was possible to have church services right in our home, according to the order prescribed in the Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy. She explained the possibilities of this Science to us, taught us how to study the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly, and on her departure twelve days later presented us with copies of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, as well as the Manual, a Quarterly, and a six months' subscription to the Christian Science Sentinel. A copy of the Bible was already in our home.
From that time on we held regular Sunday services in our home, my mother and an older brother acting as Readers, and our collection being forwarded to my aunt to be placed in some regular Christian Science church collection. During this time my mother was healed of severe burns, my sister of constant nausea, and I myself of tonsillitis.
