Christian Science has indeed been proved to me to be the pearl of great price, and without it I do not know how we could have reared our six children. They had the great privilege of attending the Sunday School, where the seeds of Truth are sown. Three of our sons were in military service, and they have expressed gratitude for the protection and help received through their understanding of this Science. We have had many experiences through which God's allness was proved, and for these I am deeply grateful.
I should like to tell of a healing which one of our sons had a few years ago. He was visiting relatives in a town some distance from home. One evening we were called over the telephone and told that he had been seriously injured in an automobile accident and had been taken to a hospital. The relatives were not Scientists.
I immediately got in touch with a Christian Science practitioner and asked for help, and my husband and I left for this town. During a seven-hour ride I worked to the best of my understanding to allay my fear of death, declaring the allness of God and the eternality of Life. I refuted all evil suggestions that presented themselves, replacing them with thoughts of good and the knowledge that nothing but good could come to God's child. By the time we arrived at the hospital, my understanding of the truth was sufficient to enable me to say with the Shunammite woman (II Kings 4: 26), "It is well."
