I wish to express my gratitude for all the benefits received through the study and application of Christian Science. My first healing was of grief when my mother passed on. It was my privilege to care for her the last five weeks of her illness, but I could not seem to forget the mental picture of her suffering. I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown when my husband suggested that we try Christian Science. My healing came immediately.
At one time I had remarked to a neighbor, "I do not believe any more that there is a God, for if there is, He would not have allowed as good a person as my mother to suffer as she suffered." I have now found the God I believe in, the God who does not cause sickness.
During my first year of study I had many proofs just through reading our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and being obedient in every way I knew how to be, such as attending church services and lectures and faithfully studying our Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly.
