It is twenty years since I took up the study of Christian Science, although when I was a boy in my teens I had heard of it as a new religion which taught that heaven is here now, that all is harmony, and that sickness, sin, and death are not the truth of being. I said to myself, "That is just how it ought to be."
When I read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, severe headaches from which I had been suffering for years were instantaneously healed, and many other ills of mortal mind fell away.
I should like to tell about the overcoming of seasickness when I was taking a six weeks' voyage to England in 1931. When the boat began to toss and roll badly, most of the passengers became ill. I had been earnestly knowing the truth before I started, and when the feeling of seasickness tempted me, I said: "No! 'Resist the devil, and he will flee from you'" (James 4:7). After that I was completely free.
