Testimonies of Healing

One Wednesday evening while attending...

From the April 1949 issue of The Christian Science Journal

One Wednesday evening while attending the testimony meeting at our local Christian Science church, I experienced a beautiful healing.

When the first hymn was announced, I realized that I had forgotten to bring my glasses with me. Having studied to be an optometrist, I knew that my difficulty would have been called presbyopia. I declared that I was a Christian Scientist, that I did not believe in weak muscles or old age. Then I looked up and read the inscription on the wall, "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 494). When it was time to sing, I could see the finest print.

I did not give this testimony in church for two weeks, but I was so grateful that I had to call my daughter to tell her of my healing. She said, "Why, I am healed too!" I asked her when, and she said it was two weeks before. She said that as she was cleaning her glasses, she realized that they were just pieces of glass and that she did not really believe that she had to wear pieces of glass in order to see. She had had a high degree of myopic astigmatism. My granddaughter was healed at the same time of farsightedness.
