With the prayerful desire to help another on the road from sense to Soul, I give the following testimony and gratefully bear witness to the fact that Christian Science is the Comforter promised by the Way-shower, Christ Jesus. Her life of consecration and devotion to the Cause of Christian Science, which she discovered and founded, and her great love for all mankind, have endeared Mary Baker Eddy to the hearts of loyal Christian Scientists throughout the world.
I was reared in a Jewish orthodox home, wherein the customary rites and ceremonies of this religion were strictly adhered to. My concept of God was of one who knew life and death and who exacted an eye for an eye, a life for a life. In addition to the foregoing, my family were steeped in materia medica. Of five children, one brother became a physician, one a druggist, and I married a druggist, and we owned and operated a drugstore for a number of years.
After I became a widow, my brother and I merged our interests in the drug business. At this point I had exhausted the resources of materia medica in an effort to find some semblance of relief from inherited weaknesses and disease which had prevailed from childhood and from which doctors said there would be no relief. This condition became greatly exaggerated through grief and overwork, and I was without hope in the world. At this time a neighbor, sensing my great need, told me of Christian Science. The healings I sought came about through Christian Science treatment given by a consecrated practitioner. The testimony relating these healings is in the April, 1942, Journal. It is now my desire to share the complete demonstration with the world.
