Meek, Not Servile

From the November 1950 issue of The Christian Science Journal

He is not servile who is meek.
In meekness one finds might
To spurn the tyrant's galling yoke
And triumph in the right.

The meek take up the sword of Truth
And fight to win the goal
Where self yields up its will to Love
And sense gives way to Soul.

He is not servile who is meek.
Coheir with Christ in God,
With free and fearless heart he walks
The path the Saviour trod.
