Words are inadequate to express my...

From the November 1950 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Words are inadequate to express my gratitude for the blessings Christian Science has brought into our home. I am most grateful to the practitioner who helped me return to Christian Science after I had strayed for many years. Through her loving and patient help this Bible prophecy has been fulfilled for me: "I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten" (Joel 2: 25). After years of sickness I was restored to health such as I had never known. Erroneous beliefs of years' standing were completely eradicated. The smoking and social drinking habits dropped forever out of my life. Hatreds and resentments were overcome. It was during this period of spiritual uplift that I proved for myself that Christian Science heals when correctly and persistently applied.

At one time I was sitting alone in the back seat of a taxicab. A car came out from a side street without any warning and crashed into the side of the car where I was sitting. The metaphysical work I had done a few minutes previous against impending danger was so effective that I was not in the least hurt, nor did I feel any sense of shock.

Christian Science enabled me during World War II, one of the most trying traveling periods in our history, to travel many thousands of miles in comfort and peace. Although I did not attempt to make hotel or train reservations, so confident was I that Love would meet my need that I was miraculously provided for.
